President Antanasia Danesti

Considering the attentions of the world on the current conflict in
Azerbaijan, Antanasia had it known that to keep fully informed, even
if her generals in the field needed to reach her, they could.

Upon hearing of her people discovering what could've made the
situation a worse nightmare, she was in the middle of authorizing
Locotenant Prezan's well earned medal when her aide knocked on the
door.

"Madame President, Field report from Azerbaijan.", he said simply.

"Patch it through.", she said as she readied herself to speak.

General Radko Stepanovich looked mad enough to chew nails. "Madam
President, we have not found any more chemical weaponry, though the
Americans did have us secure the zoo, and some of our more....rural
soldiers have never seen a Zoo before."

Antanasia winced. "Will we be ending up in the news for bestiality
again?", she asked as she ran a hand through her hair.

The general set down his tea, "No ma'am, we are not savages after all,
however they sort of found large cages containing animals and
proceeded to, use them...as food. Starting with some Hedgehogs, then
came 4 rabbits, 3 goats, two sets of Water Buffalo, three Gazelles and
two Elks, before I could restore order they were in the process of
getting a mortar crew in to the elephant enclosure."

Oh Sweet Lord...., Antanasia thought to herself with a groan.
"Reassure the local authorities that we will personally replace the
eaten animals as soon as the area is safe and I order from here out
that if the soldiers are not satisfied with the rations they are
provided with to lodge complaints through the standard channels and we
shall proceed from there.", she said, "Are there any further surprises
I should be aware of?"

"Well the local authorities are not the problem, as far as they are
concerned we rescued them from Iranian dictatorship so they are very
forgiving, however the American commander is one of their animal
lovers and is considering making an issue of this calling it a war
crime."

"What?", she said as her mind tried to roll itself around the concept.
Many of the middle to older generations had either lost family to
Ceaucescu or the Nazis, and in many cases both. What they'd gone
through were truly of the definition of War Crimes compared to being
hungry and eating what was on hand.

"It what he said, he told me their animal lovers would be angry and
would pressure the President to make an issue of it. Madame President,
I lost family to the Hitlerites, and to Ceaucescau's goons, I know war
crimes, this is basically bumpkins who still have shit on their boots
seeing large amounts of animals they ate. I have issued orders to not
hunt in the zoo any more, but this fool wants courts martial and
prison terms."

"Inform him to forward his complaints through the appropriate channels
and should President Williams wish to make something of this, we will
deal with that should it come.", Antanasia stated, "If this officer
wishes to attempt to imprison our soldiers, then it will be on his
head of any civilian casualties that occur due to our troops not being
present to protect."

"Yes Ma'am."

The remainder of the conversation went over matters of deployment and
the progression of the combat. Antanasia wished the general well at
the end. She sighed again and gathered the paperwork that would be
needed to replace the zoo stock.

-----
Actions:

1) New order to the troops. In addition to the no acquiring, no
eating anything from the cities unless lawfully purchased in an
eatery. Hunting outside in the wild country, go have at.

2) Preznan gets his sparkly medal, yay!
