"The Commitment"
June.1
PM James McColl
Canada

---------------------

The last month had been a pretty harried one in Ottawa. Sentiment in the
capital was largely stressed, but determined. People had come out and
condemned Iran's unjust invasion from every corner of country, and mood was
by and by the same on Parliament Hill.

CSIS had done what it could with it's limited resources to supply the
government with information. The commons had debated the issue and it was
decided to join American-led coalition to oust Iran from Azerbaijan. Now
was to be decided to contribution.

Memorandums had gone around to the different military and defence staff, and
the last reply had just come back. The consensus was that they could afford
to send 3,000 troops and their attendant vehicles, supplies, and staff
without overtly stretching the army. One destroyer and four frigates would
be the naval commitment; and as for the air force, they said 15 CF-18's were
in good enough condition for service.

"Okay then. Sarah, I'm heading over to Bachman's office now."

"Gotcha, have fun!" she smiled.

Five minutes later, McColl was seated in Bachman's office. "So, here's the
consensus on our contribution for the Azerbaijan mission. I need you to
notify our respective allies and start the organizing."

"Hmm, alright then." Julia said distractedly as she read the report. "Iran
will be in a nasty spot of trouble. China on one side and NATO on other?
Sucks to be them. But they deserve it I guess."

"Yea I suppose they do. Although we don't know for certain that the Chinese
are going in through Pakistan. We don't even know if we're going to stop at
the Iranian border. Ask the other governments what the plan is for that
too. Anyways, I have to go. Take care."...

Actions:

1) Detail Canada's commitment to Azerbaijan in the case NATO goes in to kick
some Iranian ass.
