However, I'm not releasing it yet, because not many people have posted. I'd really like at least half the game to have posted something before I post the WR. Failing that, it'll go up Monday. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... In any case. Covering a topic I'm surprised hasn't come up yet: SECRET ACTIONS ------- Secret Actions are anything you want to keep secret from the rest of the playerbase. Covert ops, secret research....anything your minds can imagine should be secretive, within reason, I can accommodate. They should, naturally, be sent to me privately - and clearly labeled IN THE SUBJECT as secret actions, as follows (not a real post): "Secret Actions: France: Torturing the Ninja Squirrels" If you screw up and send em to the list, I will laugh at you...and treat it as a normal post. This is your only warning. They should thereafter be written as you would write a normal post. Dates are *mandatory*. I've seen them not applied by players in normal posts...Not gonna fly on secret actions. For follow-up, they need an IC date attached to em. --- The Actions Section of a secret action is vital. You need to be *absolutely clear* as to your intentions. Any unclear phrasing, and I will decide what you meah myself - this will basically depend on my sense of drama. --- Secret Actions are generally resolved as I would resolve a normal post. However, I apply another measure after I decide success - the leak roll. Essentially, for each action, I assign a target number along a scale of 100 - I then roll a d100 against it. Meet or beat the target number, and your action is carried out in secrecy. Roll below it, and the action is 'leaked'. I plan to decide consequences of a leak fairly dynamically - if you're conducting something horrific or illegal, it'll get a different reaction than if it's just run-of-the-mill spying, naturally. Sometimes it'll mean press attention. Other times, I may quietly slip a note to another player, alerting them to your activity. Other times, it may mean entirely unique consequences. --- Long-term secret actions: Some kinds of things, I will designate "long-term" activities. Most commonly, this will apply to research or construction, but it can apply to anything that logically stretches for more than one WR. In such cases, I'll make notes of the activity in files held by me - with each WR, I'll roll new leak rolls and, if applicable, decide on continuing success/failure. Research/Construction will also, for sanity's sake, have it noted when they should be complete by. --- In case you're wondering, no, I will not count Secret Actions in with the post count. Any other questions on this topic, feel free to ask off-list.
