What is Classic Strings? Classic Strings is a small collection of musicians in the Grande Prairie area. Originally established in 1994 as a string trio, over the years the instrumentation has changed as performers come and go. Classic Strings has performed on a wide variety of occasions - dinner music, store opening, wine tasting, weddings, and receptions are a few examples of past experience. What Instrumentation is Available? At this point in time, the following instrumentations are available:
What is the Cost? Generally, gigs are billed on an hourly basis based on the number of performers. Usually, the charge is fifty dollars an hour per musician. All bills are rounded to the next half hour, and there is a minimum charge of one hour. Wedding ceremonies are a flat fee of one hundred dollars for the ceremony itself. Classic Strings will travel for a gig. In the case of booking relatively near to Grande Prairie, AB, there will be a travel charge based on distance traveled. For any place not within reasonable driving distance, there will be charges both for travel and accommodations. And please note that these prices may be subject to change at any time. Please note: All of our musicians are willing to work with other musicians. If you need an accompanist, we can do that. If you have an accompanist lined up but need an instrumental part, we can do that. And we're happy to answer any questions you may have. Want to Become a Part of Classic Strings? If we are interested, we will get back to you regarding your resume. Please do not make any inquiries over the phone unless requested to. Please note that, while we do call ourselves 'Classic Strings' we will not limit ourselves to purely Classical Musicians. Furthermore, while the area that we primarily serve is Grande Prairie and its immediate surrounding communities, we will not dismiss any out of town or out of province applications if they meet our requirements. |
